Job Description

This role is crucial to the service team's efforts, providing a positive first impression of our establishment's friendliness, excellent service, and high standards. The Waiter ensures that guests receive outstanding customer service and actively contributes to enhancing their overall dining experience, addressing any arising issues in consultation with senior restaurant line management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve each guest with a friendly and courteous attitude.
  • Evaluate understanding of daily specials, internal promotions, or menu changes.
  • Foster efficient, smooth communication between Back-of-House (BOH) and Front-of-House (FOH).
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner without delay to enhance table turnaround times.
  • Maintain minimal food wastage, spillage, and breakage at all times.
  • Clear tables, cutlery, and plates as per service sequence supported by the runner.
  • Contribute to maintaining the restaurant clean and safe.
  • Adhere to cash handling procedures and policies.
  • Report on duty on time, adhering to correct uniform and grooming standards.
  • Comply with set HACCP, ISO guidelines, and food safety standards at all times.
  • Escalate any customer complaints or issues immediately to Senior Management or direct line management for prompt resolution.
  • Train runners on correct service standards and hygiene guidelines.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the seating chart/outline.
  • Understand key functionalities of the MICROS system.
  • Participate in functions and activities with other outlets when required.
  • Acknowledge provenance and ingredients per menu items.
  • Advise BOH on customers' food intolerance.

Requirements

  • Higher secondary education essential or equivalent vocational qualification obtained working for a 4/5 star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • At least 1 year work experience in hospitality, restaurants, or fine dining environment.
  • Excellent command of English; Arabic desirable.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and confidence.
  • Understanding of MICROS.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and ISO standards.
