Job Overview

Asterix Communications seeks a highly skilled Sr. Instrumentation Engineer IPF Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting Instrumentation/IPF Engineering activities for projects, from initial concept definition phase through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring they are comprehensive and clear.
  • Ensure that the required engineering standards and technical assurance practices are followed while conducting Instrumentation/IPF Engineering activities.
  • Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
  • Carry out in-house site surveys, engineering/design, and review method statements created by contracted organizations for scope compliance.
  • Produce, review, check and approve in-house designs and specifications, and coordinate designs, specifications and work-scopes created by multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, and plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure that the requirements of environmental and safety policies are incorporated into designs and work-scopes, and review, evaluate and approve/reject Contract Changes / Variations.
  • Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance, and support Assistant Manager to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
  • Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of coworkers, and participate in structured training for Qatari Engineers under development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, with Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent.
  • 10 years relevant post graduate experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Instrumentation/IPF Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment, and good communications and presentation skills with fluency in English.
