Hazards from wildlife can pose significant threats to aviation operations. As a result, it is essential to have effective measures in place to mitigate these risks. At Hamad International Airport, we strive to provide a safe environment for both passengers and wildlife by implementing robust wildlife hazard management strategies.

The primary goal of this position is to contribute to the development and implementation of effective wildlife hazard mitigation plans. This involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify and address potential hazards, as well as providing training to airport safety staff on wildlife hazard management best practices.

  • Collaborate with the line manager to develop and implement effective wildlife hazard mitigation plans.
  • Provide regular updates on wildlife sightings and incidents to the line manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of wildlife occurrences and incidents.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor bird and insect populations.
  • Liaise with ATC on wildlife hazards and report the actual status of Bird Watch conditions.
  • Develop and implement measures to reduce bird populations.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Ornithology, Biology, Environmental Science or a related field with minimum 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Training certification courses on Aerodrome Safety Management, Wildlife Hazard, and other ICAO/ACI/Safety certification are an advantage.
