As a Senior Utilities Engineer at CH2M HILL Careers, you will be responsible for the construction supervision of Expressways projects.

The role involves overseeing the utilities aspects of the project to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed.

You will report to the Senior Resident Engineer responsible for the Expressways Project and supervise Assistant Resident Engineers, Utilities Engineers, and works inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties of the Resident Engineer Utilities on site.
  • Manage and direct a team of Utilities Engineers and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction of the Expressways designs.
  • Identify resource requirements for effective supervision of utilities aspects of construction works and manage the supervision team.
  • Act as prime point of contact for utilities construction supervision aspects of the project, including progress reporting, safety, financial recommendations, and quality control.

Requirements:

  1. Recent previous experience (within the last 5 years) as a Utilities Resident Engineer for major highway projects that are complex in nature.
  2. Experience in construction supervision of both wet and dry utilities.
  3. Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major highways projects.
  4. BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university.
  5. Minimum of 5 years post-chartered (or PE registration) experience.
  6. Fully understand aspects of site supervision and construction management of complex highways projects.
  7. Enthusiastic about improving safety performance of site operations in Qatar.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet project objectives.
  9. Good leadership skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team.
  10. Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English.
  11. Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential.
