Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Engineer Piping Specialist to lead our piping project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire project piping workstream, ensuring high-quality execution, and controlling production process installation, repair, modification, or new routing of piping systems and their components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple vessel projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineering, procurement, quality, and planning departments for project preparation and planning.
  • Control execution of all piping works onboard vessels, including installation, repair, modification, and new routing.
  • Conduct daily project meetings with the team to meet schedule and budget targets.
  • Monitor and control budgeted man-hours against the plan, capturing additional billable work and ensuring cost control.
  • Coordinate with production workshop and production engineering to ensure fabrication and scope of works meet the plan.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure the sequence of piping works fits in with broader work stream schedules.
  • Prepare work completion forms upon job completion and apply Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Ensure work is executed to a high standard to facilitate successful job inspections.
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure end-to-end smooth operations and work completion.
  • Ensure the integrity of both onboard and workshop activities, including cutting, beveling, fit-up, welding, brazing, flushing, chemical cleaning, pressure testing, etc.
  • Closely monitor section workforce movement, validating ID passes, and monitoring daily food requests.
  • Raise subcontractor requests for subcon manpower if required.
  • Collect project/vessel specs from the commercial department and assist Piping Manager to assign the piping engineer for the project.
  • Allocate manpower for vessels as per the project work scope.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Review piping section Work Instructions (WI) and Risk Assessment (RA) to cover all piping activities.
  • Foster an engaging culture of safe and productive work through role modeling NKOM's values.
  • Prepare fit-for-purpose work Permits & Risk Assessments for the identification, control, and/or mitigation of workplace risk.
  • Review and update section Risk Assessments/Environmental Aspects & Impacts as per the latest safe practice and get approval from Piping Manager.
  • Apply mathematics and statistics to model production systems during decision-making processes.
  • Design, implement, and refine products, services, processes, and systems, taking into consideration any constraints and local nuances.
  • Apply appropriate knowledge to design, redesign, or improve product & service functionality.
  • Drive and implement process improvements to reduce assembly hours and build cost.
  • Apply concepts and quality techniques throughout the entire production process & system and deploy organizational standards for control proceedings and auditing.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological developments enabling enterprises and society.
  • Manage and optimize flow (information and production flow).
  • Apply knowledge to application of castings, machining, processing, joining processes, metal cutting & tool design, metrology, machine tools, machining systems, automation, jigs and fixtures, die and mold design, machine designing and manufacturing, etc.
