About the Role

As a Senior Occupational Health Doctor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing the Occupational Medicine Service for the Qatar Airways Group. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure employees are fit for their roles, remain medically fit for work, and risks to employees from job-related health hazards are appropriately controlled.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the development of Group Medical Occupational Health services in line with divisional and Qatar Airways Health & Safety objectives.
  • Develop and implement an Occupational Health team strategy, driving the delivery of Occupational Health services to all Qatar Airways group staff.
  • Establish and maintain Occupational Health services, policies, and procedures in line with international best practice standards.
  • Motivate Qatar Airways managers to adopt best practice and provide support and advice on Occupational Health matters.
  • Raise awareness of occupational health-related medical issues within the business.
  • Oversee the management of medical cases where work may have impacted on health or where health may impact on the future ability of the employee to continue working.
  • Establish departmental objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate departmental objectives, plans, procedures, and practices, making appropriate changes as needed.
  • Oversee and supervise employees, directing daily activities, recruiting, training, developing, and disciplining to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments.
  • Ensure that all uses, disclosures, and requests of information are done in accordance with data protection principles adopted by Qatar Airways and are limited to what is reasonably required to accomplish the intended business purposes.
  • Responsible for ensuring that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant Qatar Airways induction, information, instruction, training, and supervision.
Qualifications

You will possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of job-related experience.
  • Must be an accredited specialist qualified in Occupational Health Medicine or Board certifications and/or Accreditation by professional Fellowship or Membership bodies, for example, MFOM, AFOEM, FAFOEM, or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in commercial, industrial, and/or aviation settings.
  • Basic Aviation Medical Training would be an advantage.
  • Experience of providing Occupational medicine in the commercial or aviation sectors.
  • Able to appropriately delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Drive team development through coaching and training.
  • Foster teamwork and an inclusive team environment.
