Wildlife Hazard Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wildlife Hazard Specialist to join our team at People Dynamics Doha. As a key member of our airside operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of aircraft and passengers by mitigating wildlife hazards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wildlife Monitoring: Patrol the airside to monitor wildlife activity, report and record all wildlife occurrences and incidents, and produce wildlife hotspot maps to inform mitigation strategies.
  • Bird Control Equipment Management: Set up and reposition bird control equipment on the airfield, monitor its serviceability and maintenance, and adjust settings as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Wildlife Carcass Collection and Analysis: Collect bird strike carcasses, identify species, and store them in a freezer for follow-up analysis to inform wildlife mitigation strategies.
  • Insect and Food Source Monitoring: Conduct site inspections to monitor population levels of insects and food sources that attract birds and wildlife, and report findings to inform mitigation strategies.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with Air Traffic Control (ATC) to report wildlife hazards and provide updates on bird watch conditions, and attend to requests to keep runways clear of wildlife hazards.
  • Wildlife Mitigation Strategies: Implement measures identified in the Wildlife Hazard Manual to decrease wildlife population levels and use approved methods to follow wildlife mitigation strategies.
  • Incident Reporting and Analysis: Investigate and produce incident reports with accurate data for further analysis following wildlife hazard events and bird strikes.
  • Wildlife Awareness Training: Provide wildlife awareness training for airside users to ensure they are fully aware of wildlife hazards.
  • Wildlife Tool Deployment and Control: Deploy and control wildlife tools in the airfield, such as traps and cages, and monitor the effectiveness of deterrent infrastructure modifications.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have a strong background in wildlife management, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airside environment.
