Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Management: Monitor and process claims related to our fleet, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Charter Party Compliance: Ensure compliance with charter party terms, including monitoring vessel performance and highlighting areas of concern.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders, including charterers, internal teams, and external partners, to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate monthly summary reports highlighting areas of over/underperformance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Cost Reimbursement Claims: Monitor, track, and execute relevant cost reimbursement claims to charterers, liaising with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Audit Support: Provide relevant documents and information to support audit requirements, both internal and external.
  • Charterer Support: Support post-fixture operators by ensuring compliance with charter party terms and facilitating regular meetings with charterers as required.
  • Procedures and Compliance: Ensure compliance with proper procedures regarding management and approval of claims, in accordance with internal lines of approval.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and track charterer accounts, collaborating with Finance to highlight areas of concern and optimize financial items.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree in Business, Economics, or a relevant field, with a diploma in ship management and operations (ICS preferred).
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in chartering, shipping, and commercial operations, with a strong background in commercial and post-fixture operations.
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of shipping commercial management, chartering, and post-fixture operations, with experience in contracts and claims negotiation an added advantage.
Working Relationships
  • Internal: Fleet Division, Accounts/Finance/Treasury Ops, Legal/Insurance.
  • External: Charterers, JV partners, Agents, Bunker brokers/traders, Ship-owners, Shippers, Receivers, Traders, Port Agencies worldwide.
