Roles and responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance (QA) Activities

  • Developing Quality Standards: Work with other departments to develop and implement quality standards, procedures, and guidelines that align with both industry standards and client expectations.
  • Inspection Planning: Plan, develop, and implement inspection procedures and testing protocols for processes, products, and materials throughout the production or construction phases.
  • Process Audits: Conduct process audits to ensure that work procedures are followed correctly and efficiently. This includes reviewing processes for compliance with the quality management system (QMS) or ISO standards.
  • Documentation: Ensure that all QA-related documents are maintained, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, corrective action plans, and process flowcharts.

2. Quality Control (QC) Activities

  • Inspection of Materials and Products: Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify they meet the required specifications and standards. This could include measurements, visual inspections, and functional tests.
  • Testing: Perform physical and/or chemical tests on materials, products, or systems, using various measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, testing machines, or software tools).
  • Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify any defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities in materials or processes, and document these findings clearly in reports. Notify the relevant teams about the issues and collaborate on corrective actions.
  • Corrective and Preventive Actions: Work with the production or construction teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures to resolve quality issues and avoid recurrence.

3. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure products and processes comply with industry-specific standards, such as ISO 9001, ASTM, API, or other regulatory bodies, depending on the sector.
  • Health and Safety Standards: Monitor that all safety protocols are followed in the production process, especially in hazardous environments like manufacturing or construction sites.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure quality practices align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals when appropriate.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to quality performance, and report key metrics to management for continuous improvement. Metrics may include defect rates, failure rates, process variations, etc.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements in processes to reduce defects and improve overall efficiency. This can involve recommending better practices, training for employees, or upgrading equipment.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and safety practices to ensure consistent quality control across the organization.
Desired candidate profile

Minimum 10 years for Diploma holder /7 Years for Engineering degree in oil & gas industry in Gulf.

Attention to Detail: QA/QC Inspectors must be highly detail-oriented to identify small defects or variations that could lead to significant quality issues.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze inspection data, identify trends, and draw conclusions from testing and quality reports.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify quality issues and suggest solutions to rectify problems quickly and efficiently.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using inspection tools, software, and testing equipment relevant to the industry.
Documentation: Strong documentation and report-writing skills to maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality metrics.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific standards is critical. Knowledge of auditing processes and procedures may also be essential.

Interpersonal Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, engineers, management, and external vendors or customers to resolve quality issues.
Reporting Skills: Ability to prepare clear, concise reports on inspection results, non-conformance, corrective actions, and other quality-related matters.
