Assistant Merchandiser

As Assistant Merchandiser you will be responsible for achieving sales plan by assisting the Merchandiser/ Merchandising Officers in proper product placement and flow of merchandise in the form of floor moves, sales floor replenishment, inventory management, shortage control and stockroom organization to ensure smooth operations within the merchandising team. Accountabilities:
- Assist Merchandiser in the placement of merchandise on the sales floor to ensure floor readiness.
- Ensure all merchandising SOPs (Standard Operating Policies), procedures, and standards are understood and followed correctly to ensure minimum negative impact to flow of operations.
- Oversee responsibilities of Porters in replenishment of stock on the sales floor ensure all shelving and fittings are maintained in good order and in safe condition.
- Review the flow of merchandise on a daily basis by ensuring the right product is in the right place in the right quantity in a timely manner.
- Assist in the markdown process by liaising with the buying team to ensure stock availability in a timely manner.
- Assist in the inventory management process along with the inventory team ensuring the inventory data are accurate and HIA has the right stock level to support the business needs.
- Monitor the stock and update records on a daily basis; prepare detailed reports for management review and highlight any stock issue for discussion and action.
- Assist Merchandisers, Merchandising Officers and Visual Merchandising Officers in the movement of fixtures and merchandise for new product, season changes, clearance sets and during promotions.
- Ensure all picked merchandise is quickly and properly transferred from the store to shop floor.
- Action administration amendments on pricing, bar codes or PLU (Price Listing Unit) numbers as and when instructed by Merchandising Officer.
- Implement and maintain the price ticketing and shelf-edge label system so as to provide customer with clear and concise information on the product and price/
- Acquire excellent product knowledge so as to enhance merchandising skills, ensure stock is correctly priced/coded and correctly merchandised. Inspect stock on a regular basis to identify and promote dated stock to ensure correct stock rotation.
- Promote a positive image to customers through grooming, attire, and personal hygiene at all times.

- High School Qualification with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 1 years of job-related experience
- Experience in a retail outlet in a multicultural environment preferred
- Exceptional customer service and merchandising skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new procedures
- Ability to delegate and follow through on projects in a timely manner with mínimal supervision Ability to train, coach, and develop a staff
