Mep Manager

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of MEP systems on construction projects in Qatar. This role involves coordination, planning, and supervision of MEP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Management:

- Manage and coordinate MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for MEP systems.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Design Coordination:

- Review MEP design drawings and specifications to identify any discrepancies or conflicts.
- Coordinate with design consultants to resolve issues and ensure design compliance with local regulations and standards.
- Provide input during the design phase to optimize MEP systems for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Procurement and Material Management:

- Prepare MEP material procurement schedules and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Review material submittals and ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Manage inventory and storage of MEP materials on-site to prevent shortages or delays.
- Quality Assurance and Control:

- Implement quality control measures to ensure MEP installations meet project standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of MEP works to identify defects or non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to rectify any deficiencies and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Implement safety protocols and provide training to workers to promote a safe working environment.
- Commissioning and Handover:

- Oversee MEP systems commissioning activities and ensure proper testing and validation.
- Coordinate with commissioning agents and testing teams to verify system functionality and performance.
- Prepare MEP systems documentation, as-built drawings, and operation manuals for client handover.
- Team Management:

- Lead and manage the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience (X years) in MEP management roles, preferably in Qatar or the GCC region.
- In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Certification in project management (PMP) or MEP-related disciplines is an advantage.
- Familiarity with local regulations, codes, and standards related to MEP installations in Qatar.
