We are recruiting a
**General Counsel** for our Qatar operation. Based in Doha, this role will be part of our multinational and multifunctional Legal team in the Middle East which is part of the global Legal community in Siemens. You will be the independent but fully integrated business partner for local business leads as well as the management. The role will report to the General Counsel Middle East in Dubai.

**What are my responsibilities?**
- As Company Secretary, you will ensure adherence to the corporate requirements, like Board of Director meetings, annual General Assembly, effecting changes in shareholderships as well as Board memberships.
- You will lead a small team of legal professionals and ensure the growth of the team members. You will secure the exchange and extension of knowledge within the team and the wider Legal & Compliance community.
- You will manage local court cases and the defense strategy in alignment with the Litigation Department and Legal in UAE, to be effected through the mandated local law firm(s).
- You will be responsible for managing the legal budget, including local external law firms

**What do I need to qualify for this job?**
- You have an excellent academic record in law and are fully qualified to practice law in your home country or another jurisdiction
- During your 5-8 years of experience PQE you held different legal positions or equal positions in international law firms or legal departments of other big multinationals
- You have detailed knowledge of foreign law systems and a great understanding of legal and economic correlations; knowledge of companies, antitrust and technology transfer laws would be beneficial as well as would be knowledge about digitalization, IoT and data (residency) laws.
- You have experience in managing a legal team
- Strong intercultural and communication skills support your ability to explain complex legal and contract management matters and compliment your strong drafting and negotiation skills
- You are fluent in English and able to work cooperatively and collaboratively within the global Siemens legal team.
