**Description - External*** About the role**:

- Monitor and analyse safety practices in Facilities Management to ensure safety awareness is a top priority to all staff in this area and to constantly improve safety standards. Ensures that the data gathered from regular checks on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis will be compiled, analyzed and summarized to identify trends and presented to several management levels.
- **Key responsibilities**
- Supervise and control the Facilities Management Health and Safety Permit to Work procedures to evaluate health and safety Permits including risk assessments, method statements and airport rules, to ensure best safety practice at Hamad International Airport.
- Write and understand SOPs related to safety, working at heights, confined space and fire safety, to provide continued control measures and instructions for safe working at HIA.
- Manage accidents/ incidents on the AQD system and subsequent related investigations to the appropriate manager/ department, for the purpose of continuous improvement.
- Ensure Health and Safety are obtained and developed in al monthly and quarterly statistical reports submitted to senior management.
- Increase health and safety awareness throughout all levels of Facilities Management through the use of presentations, safety briefings and written process’s, in order to improve staff safety awareness and safety improvement.
- Provide technical detail for the implementation and control of risk assessments and method statements in relation to civil and mechanical engineering and Heating and Ventilation systems (HVAC) for the purpose of providing safety control across the airport.
- Assist with health and safety inspections/ audits throughout HIA to help identify potential hazards in the workplace and designate the appropriate controls to the appropriate department for implementation of control. Follow up the subsequent controls at an appropriate time to ensure implementation.
- Liaise with and assist any Government bodies and regulating bodies where necessary, acting in the best interest of HIA to ensure statutory compliance and safety implementation.
- Supervise the implementation of any out of house training that may be required at any time, including activities such as developing material, ongoing review of this material and undertaking in house training and toolbox talks from time to time with HIA staff on identified safety topics.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
**Qualifications**:
**About you**:

- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 3 years of job-related experience
- High School Qualification/ Vocational Qualification or Diploma or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job related experience.
- Advance certification in Health and Safety.
- Experience in all areas of airport operations.
- Aviation experience at supervisory level.
