Job description
1. Ensure daily task briefing talks are done. 2. Ensure Start cards are filled daily and signed by all the workers. Not enough to just fill them in JMCI safety personal should ensure every worker understands the hazards of the job. 3. Create formats for daily task briefings, Start cards and tool box talks based on activities. 4. Ensure that the supervisor/foreman carries out toolbox talks as required and that these are documented. 5. Document and report any safety violations by JMCI personnel, and present recommendations to avoid future repeats. 6. Records of all documentation (start cards etc) should be given to JMCIs HR team on a weekly basis. 7. Ensure all JMCI workers are provided with the correct PPE for the task in hand. 8. Responsible for ensuring required safety related materials are always on site i.e. PPE, warning signs, first aid kit etc. This can be done by coordinating with the site supervisor or JMCI store personnel. 9. Arrange UCC induction for new workers, additionally conduct an internal JMCI induction for new workers which focuses on our work specifically. 10. Arrange work permits and permit control, Gate pass as required. 11. Clearly explain to the workers the reasons why you are asking them to work in a certain way, so they understand the benefits of working safely. 12. Ensure the work area is safe before starting any activity and do what is necessary to make the area safe so the works can proceed. Doing what is necessary to make the area safe requires JMCI safety personnel to be proactive to ensure the work can proceed as soon as possible. 13. Responsible for hanging warning signs as required and for creating exclusion zones as required.
