Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in SQL and Oracle Database Administration (DBA) at EPAM, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and work closely with our client, a prestigious international company based in Qatar. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize your proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain Oracle databases
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, concepts, and administration tasks
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases, following best practices and ensuring smooth operations
- Implement database backup and recovery techniques, including the use of RMAN (Recovery Manager), to ensure data integrity and availability
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to enhance overall system performance
- Utilize SQL and PL/SQL programming languages for database development and scripting tasks
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, diagnosing and resolving complex database issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate effectively in a client-facing onsite role, engaging with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Communicate effectively and maintain strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), with a solid understanding of Oracle database architecture, concepts, and administration tasks
- Proficiency in database installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures, adhering to best practices and industry standards
- Experience in database backup and recovery techniques, including RMAN, to ensure data protection and disaster recovery
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
- Familiarity with database security principles and best practices, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity
- Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages, leveraging them for database development and scripting tasks
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate in a client-facing onsite role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team

ADDITIONAL
- You will be working on site, from our client's office in Doha
- The working schedule is 5 days a week, from Sunday to Thursday (In Qatar, weekend is Friday to Saturday)
