**JOB TITLE**: Audit Associate

**REPORTS TO**: Audit Assistant Manager, Audit Manager and SBU Partner
- Assurance Services

**LOCATION**: Doha, Qatar

***:The Audit Senior Associate is responsible for conducting and documenting routine audit examinations for the clients of Morison. The role is a direct report to the Audit Assistant Manager and is responsible for execution of detailed audit procedure in a highly professional manner and in accordance with the international standards governing the practices of external auditing. In addition, this role also provides input to improve operational efficiency and/or to enhance the design or operating effectiveness of the internal control environment.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develops an understanding of Morison’s corporate functions, business units, products & services, and operating environment and the associated business risks (internal to Morison and external that impact Morison), controls and processes, along with knowledge of the impact of systems within responsible areas.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the Audit Services' Internal Audit Charter, Policy and Methodology and adheres to all applicable requirements within those documents. (requirement checklist that client’s provide you for carrying out the audit). / Expertise in accounting framework IFRS, IAS and ISA.
- Coordinates with the Assistant Manager, Manager and Partner on all phases of the engagement, including execution of the engagement letter, communications with the client, job planning, and scheduling.
- Perform preliminary analytical review and highlight risk areas for audit reports.
- Participate in client audit, review, and compilation engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and preparation of financial statements.
- Exercises independent thinking skills by making decisions related to engagements to include assessment of engagement risks, determining which procedures to perform to arrive at a desired level of assurance, and evaluating evidence.
- Acquire working knowledge of clients’ businesses while expanding your experience with a diverse client base.
- Serves the needs of the client by planning and performing audits, reviews, and compilations, in addition to any other related client needs.
- Proactively interact with client management gathering information, resolving problems, and providing recommendations for business and process improvements.
- Leading fieldwork, managing performance, coaching and mentoring more junior team members and keeping engagement leaders updated on audit engagements.
11. Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues.
- Evaluates the client’s system of internal control, and conducts the engagement plan, preparation, and execution.
- Document audit activities, identified issues, and conclusions to assist audit team with reporting to the stakeholders.
14. Demonstrates professional skepticism and comfort with questioning how certain processes are being performed to facilitate making improvements.
- Review with audit manager and partner and provide resolutions to points/comments provided on the audit.
- Concurrence with tax department on external audit and subsequent clearance of required procedures.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s in Accounting / Finance or any relevant field
- Professional Certifications: CA/ ACCA/ CPA / CIA
- Work Experience: 2-4 years of audit experience
- Software skills: Caseware Africa (preferred), Microsoft Office 365 tools
- Word, Excel, Powerpoint (Proficient)
- Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
- Competencies Required:
A. Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary to conduct audits to review information and determine potential control weaknesses.

B. Build and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.

C. A good team player and has strong working relationships with the members of the team to deliver efficient and proactive services to clients.

D. Strong communicative skills - verbal for negotiation and written for report writing.

E. Time management - Focused on completing projects timely and of high quality.
