Marine Structural Engineering Specialist

B.Sc. degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- 15 years’ experience in oil & gas sector with Minimum 10 years focused experience specifically in Marine Structural Engineering
- Significant knowledge on subsea structure, failure mechanisms and corrosion controls.
- Experienced in inspection methods and technologies offshore structures intervention/repair (including EPRS).
- Experienced in the FFS relevant codes and practices.
- Advanced knowledge and Computer literate with knowledge of structures engineering analysis tools and software.
- Extensive experience in the structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea steel structures.
- Extensive experience in seafastening, lift rigging and installation aid design.
- Experience of production and checking of design documentation is essential.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of SHE Standards as they relate to the Oil & Gas Industry and Environment.
- Proficient written and spoken English.
- Ability to lead and function with a design team and across multiple projects is essential
- Can work to deadlines set by management
- Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
- Produces work of presentable quality
- Knowledge of DNV & ASME codes and standards for Subsea Structural Systems and Repair
- Identifies industry codes, standards and design guidelines
- Foresee and resolve issues by providing guidance to the site team for safe installation
- Review Technical Queries and Technical deviations from Contractors and ensure deviation to QG /International specifications are minimized
- Computer literate with knowledge of engineering software tools. Engineering Software capabilities: SACS and STAAD & (Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, reports and presentations)/ STAAD Pro, FS2000 and ABAQUS or similar software, Bentley RAM, RISA, ETABS, or Enercalc
- Oversee the works for Contractor Subsea structural engineers and provide guidance to meet project scope and timeline.

Job Purpose:
This position plays a key Engineering role, with a primary function to perform specialised expertise in the QG subsea offshore structural engineering discipline for QG offshore Subsea Pipelines Project to ensure the Pipeline design, fabrication, repair assessment and repair execution in the highest compliance to Qatargas management systems and procedures.
- Provide technical expertise in civil & structure align with Standards, Specifications and procedures to meeting project objective.
- This role is technically responsible for project Offshore Marine Structural Engineering for performing assessment, FEED, Detailed Engineering, specialised engineering studies, development, coordination and implementation of structures, developing guidelines, oversees project Structural engineering, to assure that the subsea project objective is met.
