**Primary purpose of job**
To provide support to the Operations Manager Drilling and Completions, and all Department functions regarding

implementing optimum solutions for managing and improving their respective processes and operations. The scope of

responsibility covers conceptual field development planning, drilling, completions, workover, well services, well integrity as

well as various contracting and recruiting activities.

Review the performance improvement projects for all groups within the Drilling and Completions Department to achieve

high level performance standards in all activities.

2. Provide as required technical assurance for drilling, completion, workover and well integrity programmes ensuring that

plans and programmes have been thoroughly researched, engineered, and programmed in accordance with QATAR

ENERGY policies standards, Drilling Reference Manual “DRM”, and industry best practices.

3. Provide technical coordination across all the functions in the Drilling and Completions Department by ensuring that

lessons learned and best practices are documented and implement consistently in all areas of the business to help flawless

execution and stringent cost control.

4. Propose new techniques and technology to enhance well delivery and provide the drilling technical functions with best

practice information to improve work effectiveness and efficiency.

5. Contribute to the management of HSE in all drilling, completion, workover, well services and well integrity operations

through visible HSE leadership and by providing advice and assistance to drilling staff so that the Corporate and

Department HSE requirements are addressed.

6. Provide advice to drilling staff on identifying, controlling, and mitigating HSE/operations and process safety risks through

these tools and techniques - to protect the people, the environment, assets, and QATAR ENERGY reputation.

7. Support the development of the long-term strategic plan for the drilling organisation based on the QATAR ENERGY

Business objectives, as input to the short-term business plan.

8. Provide advice and assistance on appropriate policies, performance standards, review/update of DRM. and the

organisational structure to ensure the long-term reliability and integrity of all Drilling and Completions Department activities.

9. Provide expert knowledge and advice in the event of drilling related major emergencies and to assist in the review and

update of the department’s Emergency Response Plan “ERP” as outlined in the Blowout Out Control Plan “BOCP”.

10. Develop and recommend improved processes, procedures and standards for all drilling, completion, workover, well

services and well integrity related activities using expert knowledge and creative thinking to improve and optimize all

continuous improvement throughout the Drilling and Completions Department.

**Experience & Skills**:

- Ability to make the correct technical recommendations based on systematic and logical analysis with rigorous attention to

detail. Skills in technical report writing.
- Experience with Well Integrity and Well Services operations.
- Experienced professional with at least 15 years in Drilling Engineering including 10 years in supervisory role and at least 2

years rig site experience.

**Education**
B.Sc. Petroleum Engineering Degree or other Engineering discipline.

Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
- Mastery in well design, (including tubular design, drilling fluids, cementing, directional drilling and well control), wellbore

construction, and geology.
- Mastery in well delivery process including performance management, contracting strategy, HSE, process safety and

budget/cost control.
