**Job description**

**Job Summary**:
The Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and promote sustainability. This role involves conducting environmental impact assessments, managing waste disposal systems, and ensuring the company's activities do not negatively affect the environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards. Keep updated on changes in environmental laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments (EIA) for new projects and operational changes, and develop mitigation plans for potential environmental risks.

Design and oversee waste management systems, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, recycling programs, and pollution control measures.

Lead sustainability initiatives and promote best practices in energy conservation, water usage, and waste reduction.

Design and implement pollution control measures for air, water, and soil, including monitoring pollution levels and recommending corrective actions.

Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental standards and regulations.

Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations related to environmental performance, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.

Develop and deliver training programs to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.

Develop and implement emergency response plans for environmental incidents, such as spills or leaks, and coordinate with relevant authorities.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or any equivalent degree would be accepted.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering, sustainability, or a related field, preferably within in construction sector.
