Job Purpose

Responsible for monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters, commercial contracts, and agreements. The Legal Officer shall also ensure the company complies with the statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines as observed in the industry.

Accountabilities
- Keep updated on latest changes to legislations in order to provide accurate legal support

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters.
- Provide internal legal advisory services to the Business Units (SBUs) and departments within the Company.
- Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.
- Provide administrative support as directed by the Legal Counsel & Head of Legal and Compliance.
- Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, procedures.
- Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation and documents.
- Ensure (internal & external) compliance with laid down guidelines, policies and procedures; investigate issues of non-compliance as may be required.
- Review and advice management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
- Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
- Visit the Labor Ministry for all HR related queries and concerns.
- Appear as HR representative for labor disputes.
- Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned from time to time based on the relevant business requirements.

**Skills**:

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English and Arabic
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with commercial contract administration particularly contract negotiation, preparation and administration
- Ability to provide sound legal advice to management on technical matters
- Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail

Language (s):

- English
- Arabic (will be an advantage)

Specialized Training/ Knowledge Required
- Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures is essential
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Office

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law with specialization in corporate or commercial law

Experience
- Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience in legal at a major law firm or an in-house legal department with a proven track record in contract negotiation and drafting
