Installation, Testing and Commissioning Engineer for Gas Insulated Switchgear up to 400kV & Field Services Team Leader
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Strong experience on Installation Testing and Commissioning of GIS Substation up to 400KV. Experience of Areva/Alstom/GE make GIS preferred (T-155 / B105 / B95/ F35)
- Must have competency on Partial discharge (PD) measurement of GIS, localization of the PD and must be capable of analyzing the PD patterns and providing the recommendation for further corrective actions.
Co-Ordination Between Design and Project Team.
- Must update Daily and weekly progress report to Project Team and Operations Manager.
- Must be capable of producing project planning, project documentation like Survey report, Method Statement & Risk Assessment, LCC Schematics, Single line diagram, Site Format and Site acceptance Test etc.
- Resources Allocation as per Project requirement and site team management.
- Must be capable of delivering Customer Site Training.
- Coaching and mentoring to team members and colleagues with knowledge sharing and capacity building for business growth.
- Role will require to cover sites in Middle East and Africa Region (META).
- Contractor / team Management at site.
Must possess sound knowledge on Environment Health & Safety requirements for GIS related works and substations.
- Must have sound knowledge of working in live substation, permit to work process, and equipment with Lock out tag out process.
- All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities able to be performed at customer site.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. Will include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Will have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and will be required to lead the field services team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
- Experience in Middle east will be preferred.
**Required Qualifications**
- 4 years Bachelor's degree **OR** **Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- With at least 8 years of experience in Power transmission and distribution industry having good hands on experience on Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Gas insulated switchgear up to 400kV.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Moderate travelling within the country and consider 25% travelling outside country.
**Desired Characteristics**
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Proficient in Microsoft office (MS Office) and other tools for preparing documents and reports.
- Experience in Middle east will be preferred.
