You will be working as Principal Engineer, will be the part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Doha, Qatar. In this role you will be technical lead for all medium to high complex engineering and service activities and ensure all activities related to engineering discipline within the project and services are efficiently and cost effectively executed, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements, proactively communicate with both customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for penetration and expansion

**Your responsibilities**:

- Acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completes engineering assignments for that discipline, Identifying opportunities for repeating and new businesses
- Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors, providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities
- Assisting in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates, assisting in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal and creating work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility
- Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one’s engineering projects/programs, supporting the project manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and implementation of resulting actions
- Overseeing the creation of subcontracts and managing subcontractors jointly with other involved functions, including supply chain management, collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues within ABB
- Sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines, utilizing standard processes, tools and techniques, ensuring that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements

**Your background**:

- Bachelor in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
- 10-12 years of experience in control and instrumentation field with at least 6 years of experience as Lead Customer Support / Lead Project engineer in System 800xA based solutions / services preferably in chemical Oil and Gas industry
- Hands on experience in Cyber security solutions for 800x A systems, able to do cybersecurity audits and assessments, cyber security implementation experience
- Hands on experience in industrial communication protocols like Modbus
- RTU & TCP, OPC etc
- Fluency in English is mandatory
