Inventory Supervisor

About the role:
Inventory Supervisor is responsible to physically check stock availability by maintaining accurate stock inventory records. This role is also responsible to follow various processes involved with respect to returns, damages, scheduling counts in conjunction with the merchandising/ shop floor team.

Key accountabilities include:

- Schedule the required manpower for cycle counting, accuracy, and maintenance; and day to day activities to ensure smooth operations in the inventory team.
- Physically be present during stock counts to ensure all processes and procedures are followed by the Inventory Administrator.
- Investigate, control, and reconcile any inventory variances on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and report to the Inventory Officer.
- Provide direction, support and training to the counting team to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of inventory control systems and procedures.
- Organize to ensure cycle count data entry is accomplished on a daily basis, as close as possible to a real time basis.
- Ensure all related transfer of stock been completed before the start of any physical counting of Inventory per location.
- Organize the team for annual physical inventory to ensure maximum manpower is deployed for the count.
- Inspect all variances between system and physical inventory in a timely manner, and report to the Inventory Officer to ensure corrective action has been taken.
- Control all stock movement to ensure all receipts, returns, debit notes and transfers are accounted for as per physical stock movement.
- Provide weekly/ monthly reports to the Inventory Officer as required.
- Ensure that all stocks in the returns and damages location are accounted for.
- Co-ordinate to ensure that shrinkage (loss of inventory due to theft, fraud, loss, damage or counting errors) is kept to an absolute minimum by keeping proper checks and balances.
- Check to ensure that all computer operations and programs, QDF ERP system, stock counting machines are working to conduct smooth inventory control operations.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

**Qualifications**:
About you:

- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification.
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience.

Job Specific Skills:
Essential:

- Proficiency in MS Office, with focus on Excel, is required.
- Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Experience in stock control procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of the inventory module of the QDF EPR software.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and stock control procedures.
- Experience in Microsoft Navision.
- Management of stock control and warehouse experience.
- Pays close attention to detail and is highly organized.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
