**Job Summary**:
The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring timely payments to employees, and maintaining compliance with tax laws and company policies. This role involves managing payroll records, resolving payroll discrepancies, and providing excellent service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Payroll Processing**:
- Prepare and process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, superannuation/retirement contributions, and other statutory requirements.
- Handle payroll adjustments, including leave payments, terminations, and back pay.
- **Record Maintenance & Compliance**:
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the payroll system.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, and other statutory reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies.
- **Reporting & Reconciliation**:
- Generate payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditing purposes.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies with finance teams.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes.
- **Employee Support**:
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and process corrections as needed.
- Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
- **System & Process Improvement**:
- Assist in implementing payroll system upgrades or changes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure data security and confidentiality of payroll information.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is a plus.
- **Experience**:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator, or similar role above five years
- Familiarity with payroll software -preferable RAMCO (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, Xero, MYOB, SAP).
- Knowledge of payroll WPS and Qatar labor laws.
- **Skills**:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel advance level (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
**Work Environment**:
- Office-based with standard working hours (may require overtime during payroll cycles)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: QAR4.00 - QAR5.00 per month
