The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen and dining areas. They ensure that dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and properly stored. The Steward also supports kitchen staff and helps in maintaining sanitation standards, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Cleaning and Dishwashing**:

- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Clean, sanitize, and organize all kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils as required.
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and glassware are free from spots and stains.
- **Kitchen Maintenance**:

- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Clean kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, refrigerators, and other appliances, as required by kitchen staff.
- Ensure that garbage bins are emptied regularly and that waste is disposed of according to health and safety standards.
- **Stocking and Inventory**:

- Assist in storing clean dishes and utensils in the proper storage areas.
- Monitor and manage the availability of clean dishware and utensils for kitchen and dining staff.
- Help with stocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as instructed by kitchen staff or management.
- **Supporting Kitchen Staff**:

- Assist kitchen staff in food preparation tasks as needed, such as chopping vegetables, cleaning ingredients, and other basic prep work.
- Provide support to chefs and other kitchen personnel during busy service periods by fetching supplies, ingredients, or utensils.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met in the kitchen, dishwashing area, and dining spaces.
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents, such as handling cleaning chemicals properly and using protective equipment when necessary.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of waste.
- **Assist with Setup and Breakdown**:

- Help with setting up dining areas by ensuring the proper arrangement of utensils, glassware, and other dining supplies.
- Assist in the breakdown of dining areas after service, including cleaning tables and ensuring everything is in order.
- **Teamwork**:

- Work closely with kitchen and waitstaff teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to operational needs.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a stewarding.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Strong communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals used in the kitchen.
- Understanding of basic food safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift heavy items such as pots, pans, and crates.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, such as bending, lifting, and carrying.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work in a kitchen environment, with exposure to hot surfaces, noise, and chemicals.
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on the venue's schedule.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From QAR1,700.00 per month
