Qatar Distribution Company is currently recruiting for Purchasing Assistant.

Assist Lead Buyer to undertake all purchasing administration duties with the objective of achieving rapid and efficient clearance and receipt of stock items and thus good inventory management at all times. Include source, develop and deliver specific range of products at right costs, right time and right place to achieve company’s gross profit.

Operational Responsiblities
- Accept and prepare order files for Lead Buyer to respective department. Assist Lead Buyer to update and process the order file on monthly basis for retail item, in order to maintain the accuracy of item list and quantity by timely preparation and maintenance of the forward order file.
- Ensure accuracy of all data entered into order system to ensure full, detail and correct information are sent to suppliers.
- Maintain all documents and records up to date for internal use and audit purpose.
- Record all pricing accurately and maintained in Navision with an authorized hard copy on file.
- Liaise with QR Procurement to identify approved local and international suppliers for items and services, negotiating best possible terms to ensure efficient, cost-effective company operations.
- Maintain relationships with existing supplier for future references and provide feedback for further improvement, if necessary, sourcing new supplier for future products.
- Liaises with international and local freight forwarders to ensure that QDC get competitive rates and the orders are received as per schedule.
- Monitor and update all shipping order details and communicate ETA to buyer and warehouse to ensure items are delivered timely to support operation needs.
- Prepare forecasting report for reordering purposes.
- Perform other departmental duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- Worked in a retail organization with an experience of order processing/buying department.
- Effective communication, presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive talents.
- Good knowledge in computer (word, excel, PPT)
- Knowledge of order processing/buying is preferable
- Working knowledge in Navision/Oracle will be an advantage
