**Primary purpose of job**
Manage the day-to-day operations associated with the Offshore Drilling Rig involved in the critical North Field Alpha

Workover campaign including the monitoring and management of the drilling contractor and resolving operational problems

in collaboration with the Assistant Manager Rig Operations.

1. Direct the daily activities of an offshore jack-up unit to ensure that all drilling and workover operations are conducted

efficiently in accordance with the drilling programme and the Drilling Reference Manual (DRM).

2. Responsible for the critical operational actions and decisions to effectively manage the North Field Alpha workover

campaign in an efficient and safe manner.

3. Manage HSE performance on the assigned offshore rigs by enforcing the requirements of the Drilling Reference Manual

(DRM) and by participating in the accident investigation team for all high potential rig incidents (including all Lost Time

Incidents) to ensure lessons are captured and corrective action is taken across all drilling related operations.

4. Contribute to the formulation of procedures and operational programmes to achieve the offshore drilling and workover

objectives and ensure that the Drilling Supervisors, Drilling Contractor Personnel and Service Company Personnel are

aware of and implement these procedures and programmes correctly.

5. Analyze and resolve operational problems such as “well kicks” and stuck pipe events to minimize lost time, safeguard the

well bore integrity and avoid recurrence in future wells.

6. Manage and monitor the day-to-day activities of the drilling contractor and service companies to ensure that the drilling

programme is followed accurately and that flawless execution is achieved in all operations.

7. Prepare equipment specifications for the drilling rig contracting process to ensure that contracted rigs and services are fit

for purpose and includes up-to-date technology and equipment.

8. Conduct reviews of Drilling Supervisors in accordance with the QP process for the purpose of obtaining the highest

performance from the DSV team as well as identifying development and training needs.

9. Develop and train Qatari staff in accordance with QP objectives to ensure the development of high calibre Drilling

Supervisors and Drilling superintendents.

10. Define goals and objectives to guide the offshore drilling supervisors and the Drilling and Services Contractors to deliver

a high level of operational performance.

**Experience & Skills**:

- An experienced professional with at least 15 years in drilling operations including 5 years as an offshore DSV and 5 years

as a Superintendent involved with offshore operations.
- Fluent in English (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
- Strong leadership and people management ability in a diverse cultural environment.
- Commitment and passion for managing HSE.
- Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.
- Tendering and contracting experience.
- High performance mind-set with a “can do” attitude.

**Education**:

- BSc. in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent and IWCF Certified.
