As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Doha-based Qatar Airways Cargo Customer Experience team as a **Lead Cargo Data Science Officer.**

In this role, you will extract, pre-process and analyze data through applicable statistical and mathematical tools that will help Cargo grow its revenue opportunities and cost saving options.

**As part of your daily responsibilities, you will also**:

- Play a key role in turning big data into critical information and knowledge to help Cargo adopt appropriate strategies and customize themselves for enhanced customer experience
- Perform analysis on reporting, trends, data quality and decision support system outcomes lo improve departmental forecasting techniques where improved forecasts result in better decision making and revenue results
- Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices
- Evaluate and problem solve through data analysis using combined knowledge of modelling, statistics and analytics by cooperating with colleagues
- Identify relevant data sources available, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes such as smart meters and geo location information or social media
- Compile statistical/supporting data to communicate findings, critical information and insights to business and make relevant recommendations to adapt existing business strategies

**Qualifications**:
**About You**

**We are looking for a professional with the following skills and experience**:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Experience with data analysis (SQL, R, Python, Scala, SAS, SPSS, machine learning) and data visualization tools, (e.g. Tableau, PowerBl, Qlikview, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, e.g. AWS, Azure
- Expert understanding of statistics, operations research, forecasting and optimization methods
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business Statistics or Computational Science will be an advantage
- 4 years of more of hands-on experience in development of models using statistical techniques would be preferred
- Advanced analytics certification (R, SAS, SPSS, etc.) is a plus.
