Sr. Database Administrator
- **Qualifications and Skills**:_
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in database administration roles, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Active Directory integration within a Windows Domain environment.
- Proficiency in administering databases on Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory environments.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization principles.
- Experience with database security standards and best practices, including encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, including full, differential, and transaction log backups.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent are highly desirable.
- **Job Description**_
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database instances across multiple environments, including development, testing, and production.
- Design and implement database security policies and procedures, including user authentication, authorization, and access controls, in alignment with Active Directory standards.
- Manage database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize query performance to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with system administrators to integrate SQL Server with Active Directory for centralized authentication and access management.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including installation guides, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures, to support ongoing administration and support activities.
- Implement database upgrades, patches, and enhancements in coordination with software vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to developers, analysts, and end-users on database-related issues and best practices.
- Participate in capacity planning and resource forecasting to ensure adequate storage, memory, and processing resources for database systems.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in database administration, and make recommendations for adoption and integration into the organization's IT environment.
