**SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION**
This role will suit a highly organized, proactive and enthusiastic individual with knowledge in the following fields: glass,
balustrades, and curtain wall systems, window wall systems, glazing, fixings, aluminum, precast concrete, architectural
steel, lightweight structures and stone cladding. Responsible for the design development and co-ordination of all design
aspects of product design, product testing, fabrication and erection, including the durability, safety and aesthetics of
the product. The Design Manager oversees the work of Senior Designers, Design Draftsperson, Design Engineers,
Structural Engineers, and provides technical advice to the project team and Clients.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Analyze the technical specifications, contract and the Project “scope of work” and ensure compliance.
Ability to provide design and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge and installation techniques.
Plan the variation strategy in cooperation with Technical Manager/ PM
Plan and monitor the drawing submission schedule in cooperation with the client according to the contract and

site requirements.
Develop with the design team the concept drawings, shop drawings and fabrication drawings to meet the project

requirement / specification.
Plan and monitor the design budget in cooperation with the Technical Manager.
Provide technical advice and assessment on all kind of material components related to the company’s project

works to ensure compliance with the project specification.
Review all drawing submissions prior to submittal.
Ensure the drawings; calculations and engineering submissions gain client approval prior to production Submission

and site installation and final submission with as-built condition as per contract programme.
Co-ordinate, describe and arrange mock-ups / performance testing to meet the contract requirement
Ensure that all technical information and drawings for the project are issued on time for both production and

installation
Work closely with site personnel to monitor the installation works are erected in accordance to the drawings and

project specification
Lead the client interface for the design element of the project.
Attend technical meetings for the Project, in-house and /or on Site.
Initiate necessary corrective and preventive action for the non-conformances in design.
Should be able to continually strengthen client loyalty and gain repeat business by providing high quality service

and creative (‘Leading Edge’) solutions to clients.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.

**EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE**
***8+ years’ experience in unitized curtain wall, glass wall and façade stick system.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing project design in a curtain wall company
Awareness of basic building physics including ventilation, solar gain control, thermal insulation, glare control etc.
Experience in operable element, such as windows and doors, hardware selection, design and engineering,

assembling and installation method
Practical experience in curtain wall production activities including fabrication and assembly of curtain wall panels
Practical experience in curtain wall and façade installation
Preferably have structural engineering knowledge
Strong sense of commercial awareness and project targets.

**EDUCATION & QULIFICATIONS**
***Bachelor degree in Civil / structural / mechanical engineering.
Experience in the field of construction.
BSC or Higher Diploma in Architectural Studies.

**TECHNICAL SKILLS**
***Well versed with 2-D and 3-D design software including but not limited to AutoCAD.
Experience in other relevant computer software such as Rhinoceros, Revit, Inventor, GSA, CATIA, would be an

advantage.
Well versed with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
