Job Description:
**Job Title**: AC Technician
**Reports to**: HVAC Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

- **Installation**:

- Install, inspect, and test air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and electrical connections.
- Set up new AC units in homes, commercial buildings, or industrial settings according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper refrigerant levels and system calibration for optimal performance.
- Follow blueprints, design specifications, and technical drawings to complete installations.
- **Maintenance and Repair**:

- Perform regular preventive maintenance, including cleaning filters, checking system functionality, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose AC system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
- Repair or replace defective or worn components such as compressors, motors, capacitors, fans, and electrical wiring.
- Test systems for leaks, calibrate thermostats, and adjust controls to ensure proper system operation.
- **Troubleshooting and Diagnostics**:

- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues in AC systems.
- Inspect and test electrical components, such as wiring and control circuits, for safety and functionality.
- Assess refrigerant levels and detect leaks using pressure gauges and leak detection tools.
- **Refrigerant Handling**:

- Handle and refill refrigerants (e.g., R-22, R-410A) in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Recover and recycle refrigerants using appropriate recovery systems, ensuring environmental safety.
- **Customer Service**:

- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the nature of the issue, repair options, and cost estimates.
- Provide advice on energy-saving practices and how to maintain the AC system to enhance longevity and efficiency.
- Respond to emergency calls for repairs and troubleshoot problems promptly.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA standards.
- Ensure that systems comply with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, both during and after servicing the AC system.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Keep accurate records of services performed, parts used, and repairs completed.
- Document inspections and maintenance logs for AC systems in commercial buildings or industrial facilities.
- Provide detailed reports to supervisors or clients on completed work and recommendations for future servicing.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC technician training program is preferred.
- **Experience**: Proven experience as an AC technician or HVAC technician.
- **Certification**: EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications from NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or equivalent are a plus.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair AC units efficiently.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, gauges, and AC-specific hand tools.
- Good communication skills for dealing with customers and team members.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Physical Demands:

- Ability to work in tight or confined spaces, including attics, basements, or rooftops.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials, including AC units and compressors.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and bend for extended periods while servicing systems.

Work Environment:

- Residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
- Exposure to loud noise, temperature fluctuations, and potential hazardous materials like refrigerants.
- Must follow strict safety protocols to prevent injury or accidents.

Pay: QAR2,500.00 - QAR3,000.00 per month
