**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our coffee shop team. The Barista will play a key role in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. This position requires a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Coffee Preparation**: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-over, and alternative brewing methods, following established recipes and quality standards.
- **Customer Service**: Greet customers, take orders, and provide friendly and efficient service, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the coffee shop.
- **Product Knowledge**: Have a thorough understanding of our coffee offerings, including origins, flavor profiles, and brewing methods, to provide customers with recommendations and answer any questions they may have.
- **Cash Handling**: Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, adhering to cash handling policies and procedures.
- **Cleanliness and Maintenance**: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, brewing equipment, and utensils. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure consistent quality of beverages by monitoring extraction times, adjusting grinder settings, and following brewing techniques to meet the highest standards.
- **Teamwork**: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations, assist with tasks as needed, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- **Upselling and Promotion**: Suggest and promote additional products, such as pastries or specialty items, to enhance the customer's experience and increase sales.
- **Health and Safety**: Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and hygiene practices, to maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred, but not required. We are open to training motivated individuals who have a passion for coffee.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and alternative brewing methods, is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong multitasking abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and calculating change.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A genuine passion for coffee and a willingness to learn and expand knowledge about different coffee varieties, origins, and brewing methods.
