**Job description**
- Develop and create new recipes for cakes, pastries, breads, and other baked goods.
- Experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation styles to enhance product offerings.
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen tools and equipment.
- Monitor baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection.
- Ensure all baked goods meet the highest quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and appearance.
- Inspect products for quality and consistency, making adjustments as necessary.
- Manage inventory of baking supplies and ingredients.
- Order and receive supplies, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and usage.
- Oversee the operation of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with the executive chef and other culinary team members to plan and design dessert menus.
- Update menus seasonally or for special events, incorporating new trends and customer preferences.
- Manage costs by optimizing the use of ingredients and minimizing waste.
- Price products appropriately to ensure profitability while maintaining quality.
- Interact with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
- Customize orders for special occasions, such as weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and techniques in pastry and baking.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and industry events to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with other chefs, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Education**: A degree or diploma in pastry arts, baking, or a related field is often preferred.
- **Experience**: Several years of experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on pastry and baking.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in baking techniques, decoration, and presentation. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- **Creativity**: Ability to develop innovative and appealing baked goods and desserts.
- **Attention to Detail**: Precision in measuring ingredients, following recipes, and monitoring baking processes.
- **Time Management**: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- **Physical Stamina**: Capability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- **Communication**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with staff and customers effectively.
Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,000.00 per month
