We are looking for an experienced **Accountant-General Cashier,** to be responsible for monitoring all cash activities of the Hotel, safeguarding cash assets, and preparing all financial reports related to cash transactions. This role assists in any other way deemed necessary for the efficient overall operation of the Finance Department in full compliance with the policy, regulatory and contractual framework. The role will business partner with all hotel finance team members and all hotel departments.

**Responsibilities**
- Reconciling daily cash submissions from the various departments in the hotel and consolidating the bank deposits daily, in a timely manner and accurately tie to the general ledger house bank account.
- Performing house bank audits as required by the hotel’s policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of all hotel cash.
- Document the reconciliation of all cash receipts to the PMS system and complete or assist in the completion of the daily cash over and short report.
- Prepare and maintain Over/Short Report by cashier on a daily basis and forward to Finance Manager at month-end.
- Count and document all hotel floats quarterly, on a surprise basis, in the presence of the float holder as required by the hotel’s policies and procedures.
- Prepare a quarterly summary of float counts.
- Maintain current house bank agreements. Issue cashier safety deposit boxes for bank safekeeping, as required.
- Make petty cash disbursements according to established guidelines.
- Count the General Cashier’s bank as per policy and report all counts / discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure that current exchange rates are posted, and all foreign currencies and cheques proceeds are deposited on a timely basis.
- Maintain all aspects of accounts payables.
- Manage guest and vendor relations and the accounts payables disbursements, handle all check disbursements.
- Support in monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information.
- Perform further duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements and skills**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance, or equivalent degree with relent experience
- 3 or more years of experience in a similar position in a hotel or hospitality industry.
- At least 2 years of prior experience in accounts in Qatar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Hotel PMS system, hotel accounting and sales system
- Excellent communication in verbal and written communications in English.

**Competencies**:

- Financial Reporting; cash-flow, balance sheet etc
- Strong Risk assessment and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid judgment with ability to advise on decisions
- High level of ownership and individual initiative
- Skills in forecasting, budgeting and analysis of variances is highly desirable.
- A team player and open-minded, with solid business acumen.
- Methodical, System and business process driven with great organization skills.
