**Job Summary**:
The General Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role plays a critical part in the financial health of the company by overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting budgeting and auditing processes.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the business.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT regulations, and other financial reporting standards.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Monitor cost control measures and suggest improvements.
- Process payroll and ensure accuracy in employee compensation and benefits.
- Handle inventory accounting and track costs related to food and beverage supplies.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
- Stay updated with industry financial trends and regulations.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the F&B industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and taxation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience in inventory management and cost control in F&B.
- Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant financial operations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
**Work Environment**:
- Office-based with occasional site visits to restaurants/kitchens.
- May require working extra hours during financial closing periods.
