**Primary purpose of job**
To lead and manage the Drilling, Assurance & HSE team for the purpose of improving the HSE performance, business

efficiency and cost effectiveness of all QatarEnergy drilling & completions department’s related activities.

The span of management control includes specialist and engineers with responsibility for HSE, process safety, drilling

fluids, cementing, directional drilling, casing design, well control, quality assurance, IT support, new technology and

performance management.1. Manage the Drilling, Assurance & HSE team to provide the HSE, Specialist and Engineering

input to drilling & completions department’s operations to achieve flawless execution of the operations in a best HSE and

quality performance at optimal cost. Manage IT support to the all the department’s team by facilitating the provision,

availability and accessibility of the necessary software and hardware required for effective management of planning,

engineering, and execution of the department’s rig or well services activities and related information.

2. Advocate HSE and PS in all Drilling & Completions Department’s activities through visible leadership and implementation

of the applicable Management Systems to achieve the requirements of the Corporate Policy.

3. Act as Drilling & Completions Department Management Representative for the QHSE & BCM Management System in

line with Corporate Requirements and maintaining international standards: Quality ISO-9001, Environment ISO-14001,

OHS ISO-45001 and BCM ISO-22301.

4. Coordinate new technology implementation to ensure the effective integration of the latest equipment and techniques into

QatarEnergy operations and into future field development plans.

5. Recommend, Develop, and implement processes procedures and performance standards for all the department’s

activities using innovative and creative thinking and operational experience to optimize well delivery performance and instil

a culture of continuous improvement. Acts as the custodian of the Drilling Reference Manual, DRM.

6. Ensure the accuracy and suitability of the work performed by Q & HSE team, specialists, and Engineers by reviewing and

approving their input into well designs and well programmes to assure technical and HSE integrity.

7. Provide dedicated knowledge for managing risk assessment within

the context of a systematic risk management system to protect people, assets, environment and QatarEnergy reputation.

8. Assure effective response to drilling-related emergencies by providing robust resources and procedures including

appropriate drills and exercises to ensure that any real emergency such as well control event is efficiently and effectively

managed.

9. Manage consultants and service companies performing engineering studies, including preparation and initiation of the

contractor resources.

10. Manage the QA/QC to ensure compliance of all drilling activities with the Drilling & Completions Department’s

Integrated Management System in line with corporate requirements and international standards.

**Experience & Skills**
Minimum 12-year experience in Drilling & Completions and related

operations.
- Commitment and passion for HSE, PS and risk management.
- Knowledge of new drilling technology and performance management techniques
- Mastery in well design, tubular design, drilling fluids, well cementing, directional drilling, well control and drilling operations.
- Capability to make the correct technical decisions based on systematic and logical thinking with rigorous attention to

detail.
- Tendering, contracting and cost control procedures and practices.
- Strong leadership and people management skills in a diverse cultural environment
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)

**Education**
B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
