**About the role**

The Repair and Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing maintenance, repairing and operating all kitchen equipment to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of kitchen. He/she leads a team of external technicians, manage equipment inventory and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is operating efficiently, safely and in compliance with industry standards to support the smooth functioning of kitchen operations.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Lead a team of kitchen equipment technicians (External), providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for all kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other appliances to achieve optimal performance and longevity of kitchen equipment
- Install, inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, dishwashers and ventilation systems to ensure quick and efficient repair of malfunctioning equipment, reducing disruption to kitchen operation.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with buying team to order parts, supplies, and equipment as needed to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of equipment parts and services by liaising with vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to address equipment needs, recommend upgrades or replacements, and support operational efficiency to maintain a safe working environment in the kitchen.
- Monitor equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in kitchen equipment maintenance and repair. to improve efficiency and effectiveness of kitchen operation.
- Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

**Qualifications**:
**About you**
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience

Job Specific Skills:

- Proficiency in repairing, maintain and troubleshooting a variety of kitchen equipment
- Ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedure to ensure the efficient operation and longevity of kitchen equipment
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of technicians providing guidance and training and monitor performance
- Good command of English
