**About the job**:

- Kent is looking for a _**_Senior Designer (Civil & Structural)
- Offshore_**_ to be based in the Qatar. _

Your responsibilities:

- Develops designs from project specifications, engineering sketches, technical documents and drawings in accordance with international engineering standards and codes of practice. Assignments can comprise broad work scopes where significant interface with other design teams and disciplines is required. Works under light supervision.
- Lead and manage a team of professional draftsmen. Define and assign work scopes

within a broad area of responsibility.
- Mentor junior personnel including engineers, designers and draftsmen.
- Develop detailed design/construction drawings
- Prepare error-free drawings by thoroughly self-checking the same before handing

over to the next level.
- Develop drawings directly from inputs received from other disciplines
- Develop procurement and construction MTOs from approved documents and

drawings
- Check and evaluate design and material specifications for tender
- Prepare and check material datasheets and coordinate with the procurement

functions to select materials
- Preparing calculations and sizing/selection of commonly used components, specific

to your discipline
- Allocate, prioritize and check drafting work
- Review and approve documents for scope and presentation before issue
- Participate in multi-discipline constructability reviews

- Coordinate work with other project team members, disciplines and functions
- Provide follow up assistance during construction activities as required
- Participate in project and/or departmental meetings, technical reviews, safety reviews
- Manage your assigned project team to meet scheduled milestones and to control

capital and manhour costs.

- Support other discipline drafting work, whenever required by the Company.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
**Qualification/ Certification**:

- Degree from an accredited in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Programme (relevant discipline).
- Certification and/or strong experience with 2D drawing development in
- AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar
- Certification and/or demonstrated proficiency with one or more industry
- standard 3D model platforms is desirable (AutoCAD 3D, PDMS, etc.)

**Communication**:

- Excellent oral and written communication and skills.

**Core Competencies**:

- Demonstrated ability in design leadership and the ability to work with a wide

variety of staff and clients.
- Demonstrated familiarity with common industry construction methods and

installation details related to the discipline.
