Bar Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Bar Manager for one of the most dynamic and exciting leisure venues in Doha. West Bay beach, under the management of Discover Qatar, comprises 3 absolute beachfront fully licensed venues:

- Doha Sands, an exclusive and private beach club for in house guests staying at participating West Bay hotels.
- The Bistro; a fully licensed restaurant, open from 7am until midnight with a capacity of 200, serving light casual meals and also catering for special events, movie and sports event screenings and private groups.
- B12 Beach Club, Qatar’s largest private beach club featuring the largest inflatable in the country, a range of international food and beverage outlets, general admission and VIP sections, a resident DJ and popular weekend brunches.

In this role you are required to consistently achieve and maintain high level of service standards, guest care and ensure training is carried out in the team with a special emphasis on customer care and experience. Keep their bars running smoothly by handling day-to-day operations, managing resources, and employees, and creating a safe, fun environment for staff and guest. Will also be expected to keep stocks to an acceptable level, and that consistently achieve the agreed bar gross profit.

Other key responsibilities are:

- Implement and ensure standards are attained within the section, through continuous training of all staff with special emphasis on customer care.
- Managing the business aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, contributing to negotiating supplier agreements, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
- Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours.
- Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls keeping in mind the highest standards of customers service
- Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current requirements, inform higher management in case of any challenged or dues expires.
- Diffuse tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed (with the help of security).
- Implement daily, weekly duties list and monitor staff’s effectiveness in carrying out these duties. Ensure that all staff receives a thorough briefing on all bar menus and products.
- Ensure S.O.P.’s are implemented and followed at all times by the team, and review these when necessary.
- Ensure that all new staff receive a structured induction of the operational requirements.
- Ensures bar is well-stocked, clean and all equipment are operative prior to the bar opening hours.
- Work with team to creates a detailed beverage list and innovate, upgrade the drink menus based on the analysis of guest requests depending demand, trends, preference and availability of seasonal ingredients.
- Monitor, tracks and maintains bar inventory and check list to ensure that the bar equipment and beverage supplies are well stocked up by preparing weekly/monthly inventory or purchase requisition.
- Provide a personalized approach for greeting guests by taking their feedback, suggestions and recommendation pertaining the drinks and service.
- Ensuring that the beverage orders from the restaurant servers and bar are served within minimum time frame and in a professional manner.
- Provide guidance and recommendation to guests in selecting beverage drinks or in-house specialty.

**Qualifications**:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional with:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least two years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant
- Experienced in HACCP and quality assurance implementation or Related Bar Training
