**Job Overview**:
The Senior Materials Specialist uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Material Management discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Material Management discipline. They solve complex problems and use their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Materials Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Material Management team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Lead or assist in the execution of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Category Sourcing
- Implement commercial agreements and associated work processes for products and services as delegated by the Sourcing Manager
- Identify Value Recovery opportunities for MRO spending and define/implement associated projects
- Maintain knowledge of suppliers and relevant market intelligence developments
- Utilize available Sourcing tools to the fullest capability, to improve the efficiency, and effectiveness of the Purchasing process
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and effectively manage quality service/product performance issues with suppliers
- Leverage company spending/demand and develop supplier management strategies and tactics to ensure the organization is getting the best possible products & services, quality, and price
- Rationalize the vendor portfolio to ensure critical supply products are proactively managed for example Just-In-Time delivery, live supplier stock holding, and dynamic supplier capacity management
- Identify through investigation and communication significant improvement opportunities, suggest ways in which to release these opportunities and deliver against them
- Challenge and support the vendors to identify and deliver improvements
- Set and monitor KPIs, and when necessary, put in place corrective action plans ensuring performance improves
- Conduct regular supplier reviews including supplier visits, quarterly business review meetings, and the use of supplier quality audits
- Support QHSES and Fabrication teams on product changes and new product introductions that impact the manufacturing and supply chain processes
- Deliver vendor cost savings in line with set objects
- Liaise with the shared procurement team on supplier management and continuous evolvement of KPIs (performance, quality, delivery, cost, and communications)

**Essential Qualifications and Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering
- 5 years minimum experience in procurement of materials within the Energy and Oil and Gas Industry
- Extensive functional, business, industry, and leadership expertise
- Strong functional knowledge of HR System
- Ability to generate Excel spreadsheets with supporting analysis
