We are looking to hire a Marine Systems Lead to join our team of experts in a dynamic and growing company that is driving the energy transition.

**What you will be doing.**:
This role will be based in Doha for the duration of the project and will require some travel to South Korea.
- Serve as the Discipline Lead for Marine Systems scopes for the plan approval of IGC-compliant gas carriers (LNGCs and VLGCs) on behalf of the charterer/shipowner. Lead and coordinate the plan review process of all marine systems related drawings/documents, coordinate review activities by our discipline plan review engineers. Work together with other discipline leads on multidisciplinary scopes.
- Interface with the charterer/shipowner, the nominated shipyard, Class Society and the newbuild site supervision team.
- Take an active role in the evaluation and approval of designs, plans, drawings, and technical specifications for compliance with the newbuild specification and associated rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Identify and address potential design issues, recommending improvements and solutions.
- Ensure that all design changes and updates are thoroughly reviewed and documented.
- Lead and/or participate in design review discussions with various stakeholders, including equipment/technology suppliers as appropriate in support of the plan review process and acting always in Longitude and our client’s best interests
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in gas carrier technologies and best practices for the design, construction, and operation of gas carriers.
- The ability and willingness to travel as required, and to be based in Qatar for the duration of the project.

**What we are looking for.**:
Excellent written/verbal business and technical English, and strong computer skills are a basic requirement.
- Experience as lead plan approval engineer / plan approval manager for at least one complete gas carrier project on behalf of a Class Society, a Ship Owner/Manager, or a Charterer
- A Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, 8 years of experience in the design of tankships (or 5 years if gas carriers)
- 2+ years of experience serving as technical interface / point of contact with a shipyard [on behalf of ship owner/manager or charterer] during the design review phase of a shipbuilding contract for a gas carrier (or 5+ years if for other types of tankers)
- 4+ years of experience serving as Chief Engineer aboard a gas carrier

Related experience, e.g., with newbuilding site supervision, experience in the repair and upgrade of gas carriers on behalf of the owner/manager or shipyard, will be considered favorably.
