Sand Blaster

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform abrasive blasting (sand, grit, or other media) on steel structures, pipelines, tanks, and industrial equipment.
- Read and understand work instructions, specifications, and surface preparation requirements.
Set up and operate blasting equipment, including hoses, nozzles, air compressors, and blast pots.
Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure proper cleanliness, profile, and adherence to standards (e.g., SA 2.5, SSPC-SP 10).
- Properly select and handle abrasive materials, ensuring correct pressure and nozzle distance during blasting.
- Follow strict safety procedures, including the use of PPE (blast suits, helmets, respirators) and ensuring work area containment.
- Coordinate with painting teams to ensure surfaces are ready for coating or priming after blasting.
Maintain and clean blasting equipment, reporting any malfunctions or required maintenance.
- Complete daily reports on work progress, material usage, and any issues encountered.
Work under the supervision of the foreman or supervisor, following instructions and site regulations.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- High school diploma or technical school (preferred but not mandatory).
- 2+ years of experience as a sand blaster or abrasive blaster in industrial projects.
- Familiarity with blasting techniques, equipment, and different abrasive materials.
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards (e.g., ISO 8501, SSPC, NACE).
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, including confined space work and working at heights.
- Physically fit, with the ability to wear full protective gear and work in challenging environments (heat, dust, noise).
