Job Title: Project Engineer – Pipeline Projects

Reports To: Project Manager

Project Nature: Work with the construction subcontractor under a main contractor responsible for FIM and pipeline design.

Project Type: Construction of pipeline systems, control building construction, and architectural design.

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering and construction activities for pipeline projects, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all engineering activities with the client related to pipeline and building design, construction, and recommissioning.

  • Prepare and review technical documents including project specifications, drawings, procedures, and schedules.

  • Support the procurement of materials and equipment by preparing technical queries and obtaining material approvals.

  • Act as a key point of contact between the client, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and smooth progress.

  • Participate in planning and scheduling work fronts to ensure alignment with project timelines and milestones.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve technical or logistical issues on-site in coordination with the Construction Manager.

  • Participate in technical reviews of all subcontracting activities.

  • Coordinate overseas NDT subcontractors, welding subcontractors, and address other international coordination issues.

  • Manage project documentation and maintain up-to-date records for construction and handover purposes.

  • Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Evaluate pipeline-related technical issues and act as the focal point for engineering support, consumable procurement, and construction requirements.

  • Track materials and equipment on-site and coordinate the timely delivery of required items.

  • Support the preparation of as-built documentation and final handover packages.

  • Manage all field change orders and official communication, keep track and follow up

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project execution within oil & gas or energy sectors, with partial experience in pipeline engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes (e.g., API, DNV).

  • Familiarity with construction techniques, welding, NDT, and pre-commissioning procedures.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and under pressure.

  • Presentable, with the ability to coordinate and manage meetings confidently.

  • Proficient in interpreting drawings, planning work sequences, and preparing site documentation.
