PLANNING ENGINEER (DOHA, QATAR)

Location: Doha, Qatar

Position: Planning Engineer

Industry: Construction / Fit-out / Civil Works

Job Purpose

To develop, monitor, control, and update the project program while supporting progress invoicing, productivity analysis, and contract compliance. The Planning Engineer will coordinate with the Project Manager, QS, and site teams to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare the baseline project program using Primavera P6.
  • Develop WBS, logic links, resource loading, and sequencing.
  • Update the program weekly/monthly and prepare mitigation/recovery schedules.
  • Gather actual site data and validate progress updates.

2. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project performance vs. baseline.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports (S-curves, dashboards, histograms).
  • Identify delays, perform CPM analysis, and prepare narrative reports.
  • Analyze manpower and productivity.

3. Progress Measurement & Invoicing

  • Prepare monthly progress valuations for invoicing and payment certificates.
  • Coordinate with QS to align progress % with site measurements.
  • Validate completed works for invoicing accuracy.
  • Support EOT and variation claim documentation.

4. Coordination & Technical Support

  • Participate in progress review meetings with consultants/clients.
  • Coordinate project program with procurement, logistics, engineering & subcontractors.
  • Assess project risks and propose mitigation actions.
  • Ensure contract milestones and deliverables are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years experience as a Planning Engineer (Qatar experience preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Solid knowledge in:
  • Progress measurement
  • Project cost & time control
  • CPM delay analysis & EOT
  • S-curve preparation
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (tracking sheets, dashboards).
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Must be currently in Doha (interview-ready).

Working Hours

  • Standard Qatar working hours
  • Flexibility for deadlines
  • Weekly off as per company policy
