ITS Engineer

EMFI Qatar Group is looking for an ITS Engineer - ICT with the following qualifications:

Qualification:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Relevant Subject
• Certification obtained from North America, West Europe, Australia
• Chartered Membership in Engineering or Relevant professional body would be an advantage
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications or equivalent for Telemetry, Network Hardware and software Certification
• Current/valid Qatar Driving License would be an advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years' cumulative experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in specialist area including experience in Datacentre principles, practices, virtualization and service availability management
• Ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to deliver and support change
• Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and staff at all levels within the organization
• Competent in Microsoft Office Packages, Network Management Systems and fault management systems
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is essential
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Arabic is preferred

Role/Duties:

• Monitor and support the Road Management Centre (RMC) systems necessary to ensure performance and availability service levels for the RMC
• Review and witness ITS project commissioning to ensure the RMC hosting, configuration and network infrastructure can fully meet the Ashghal ITS specifications, availabilityand performance requirements
• Support the Senior ICT engineer's management of the required activities associated with projects and existing ITS assets (investigation, analysis and design) to supporteffective programme delivery and ensuring the RMC infrastructure has the capability to meet the system compute and network requirements
• Support the the day-to-day management and performance of the RMC ICT and infrastructure maintenance contractor to ensure the availability and performance targets for theRMC LAN, physical hardware and software systems are being met and that best practices are being followed
• Support the monitoring the preventive maintenance activities of the RMC ICT and infrastructure maintenance contractor to ensure that secondary and contingency measuresare available and will work should any equipment in the RMC or DR Control Rooms and datacentres
• Monitor the RMC ICT and infrastructure maintenance contractor's configuration and management of the RMC's virtualized environments, ensuring resources are allocated asper system requirements and that the Monitoring & Management software for the environments has correctly configured alerts and is being monitored adequately
• Monitor the RMC ICT and infrastructure maintenance contractor's management of RMC/DR firewall configurations and firewall & hardware change control is logged inaccordance with ICT best practices
• Support the review of detailed plans, specifications and estimates for roadway Intelligent Traffic System implementation projects and advise on suitability of instation (RMC/DRdatacentres) hardware and infrastructure to meet the project requirements and identify any additional compute or backup resources required to support the additional requirements
• Contribute to the resolution of technical issues, such as substandard products, on projects and providing technical guidance to other team members
• Coordinate with Ashghal ISD to ensure the RMC Operational Technologies are aligned with the business technologies IT security requirements and management measures
• Contribute to studies on hosting options, cloud readiness and optimum architectures for the RMC environments
• Identify key trends and provide suggestions for improving efficiency and performance for the RMC and DR Data centre environments
• Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence to provide a solution to engineering problems and perform the ICT input in to any troubleshooting triage
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply best practice to ensure professional development
• Adhere to Health and Safety policy and procedures and comply with new work instructions
• Perform other duties / tasks as required
