The Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC, ) is looking for a motivated
IoT Systems Engineer
to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to smart city projects and gain hands-on experience across the full IoT development cycle — from prototyping to deployment.

Job Responsibilities:

The IoT Systems Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Design, prototype, and support embedded IoT devices for smart city applications
  • Develop and test embedded software (Python, C/C++)
  • Work with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, Arduino) and integrate sensors/actuators
  • Support
    hardware design and fabrication
    (schematics, PCB design, prototyping)
  • Ensure reliable device communication over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular networks
  • Collaborate with the team on cloud integration, testing, and deployment
  • Contribute to documentation and troubleshooting during development

Job Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in embedded systems
    or
    IoT development
  • Solid programming skills in Python and C/C++
  • Experience with microcontrollers and hardware prototyping
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium, or Eagle)
  • Understanding of wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Cellular)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Nice-to-Have (but not required):

  • Exposure to cloud IoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of Docker/containers or edge computing
  • Hands-on use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering tools)
