Position Title: Procurement Officer – MEP Products

Location: Doha

Position Overview

The Procurement Officer – MEP Products is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials, equipment, and services required for projects. The role ensures cost-effective, timely, and quality-focused procurement while maintaining compliance with organizational procedures and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

2. Identify, evaluate, and register suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials and systems.

3. Request and analyze technical and commercial quotations, ensuring alignment with project specifications.

4. Manage end-to-end procurement cycles for MEP products including HVAC, electrical components, fire-fighting material, plumbing items, pumps, cables, fittings, control systems, and related accessories.

5. Negotiation & Cost Control

6. Conduct negotiations on pricing, delivery terms, payment terms, and warranties.

7. Prepare cost comparison sheets and present recommendations to management.

8. Achieve cost savings without compromising quality or project requirements.

9. Purchase Order & Documentation

10. Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and subcontract agreements in coordination with the project and finance teams.

11. Ensure all procurement documentation is accurate, validated, and complies with company policies.

12. Maintain updated records of all procurement transactions for audit and reporting.

13. Vendor Management

14. Evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance, after-sales service).

15. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and manufacturers.

16. Monitor supplier deliveries to ensure on-time arrival at site.

17. Coordination with Internal Teams

18. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and quantity surveyors for material approvals and technical clarifications.

19. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for shipment tracking and receipt of materials.

20. Support estimation and tender teams with MEP material pricing and supplier inquiries.

21. Compliance & Quality Assurance

22. Ensure all procured products meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and approved material submittals.

23. Follow company procurement SOPs, ethical purchasing practices, and compliance guidelines.

24. Reporting & Control

25. Prepare weekly procurement status reports and material delivery schedules.

26. Highlight delays, risks, and procurement bottlenecks to the line manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience in MEP contracting or MEP product supply.

• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, systems, and project-based procurement cycles.

• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo) is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.

• Excellent understanding of MEP materials and technical specifications.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOQs.

• Strong communication and vendor management skills.

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
