We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Governance & Quality Specialist to champion the establishment and maturity of our enterprise data governance framework. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust policies, standards, and processes that ensure the accuracy, security, and reliability of our critical data assets. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in hands-on implementation of data governance tools, master/reference data management, and driving a data-driven culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance Framework & Strategy:

  • Design, implement, and lead the enterprise Data Governance framework, policies, and standards.
  • Establish and run the Data Stewardship program, assigning ownership and accountability across business functions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the DAMA-DMBOK framework and best practices.

Tool Implementation & Management:

  • Lead the administration, configuration, and onboarding of Data Governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC/IDQ, Microsoft Purview).
  • Configure workflows, business glossaries, data lineage, dashboards, and third-party integrations.
  • Spearhead the migration and onboarding of metadata for catalog, glossary, and lineage.

Data Quality & Lifecycle Management:

  • Define, monitor, and report on data quality rules, metrics, and dashboards using tools like Collibra IDQ.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data integrity across source systems.
  • Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from discovery to archival.

Metadata, Lineage & Cataloging:

  • Build and maintain the Enterprise Business Glossary, Data Catalog, and Data Dictionary.
  • Map Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and establish end-to-end Business & Technical Data Lineage.
  • Implement asset tagging and data classification (e.g., PII, SPI, PHI) for privacy and security.

Compliance & Collaboration:

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and internal data security policies.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams to proactively address evolving data regulations.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enforce data policies and drive data governance adoption.

Qualifications & Experience

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and administering Collibra and/or the Informatica suite (Axon, EDC, IDQ).
  • Deep understanding of data governance concepts: Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Lineage, CDEs, Master/Reference Data Management (MDM/RDM).
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy, security standards, and regulatory compliance (GDPR).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.

Highly Preferred:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure Data Lake, AWS S3) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of SQL for data analysis, profiling, and validation.
  • Familiarity with Python, Jira, and BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Certifications such as Collibra Expert, Data Steward, or DAMA CDMP.
