Position Overview:

The
Telecom Specialist
is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of the organization's telecommunication infrastructure. This includes voice, video, and data communication systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance across the enterprise. The role requires strong technical expertise in Cisco collaboration technologies, telephony systems, and IT network integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer all telecommunication activities across the organization.
  • Work with business units to determine telecom requirements, establish project priorities, and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in IT planning and evaluation for phone hardware and software solutions.
  • Perform detailed analysis and contribute to the design and integration of phone architecture, including deployment and installation.
  • Manage company-wide telecom systems including phones, faxes, fax servers, and related infrastructure.
  • Configure, support, and maintain
    Cisco Unified Communications systems
    , including:
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Cisco Unity Connection
  • Cisco Unified Contact Center
  • Support
    video conferencing
    and collaboration solutions, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Administer and support
    BlackBerry
    and
    Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)
    platforms.
  • Manage voice recording and dialer software, ensuring compliance and performance.
  • Support and document telephony disaster recovery for all client sites.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for the telecom and IT infrastructure.
  • Execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex telecom issues.
  • Perform proactive maintenance to ensure telecom system reliability and adherence to SLAs.
  • Assist in testing, installation, and configuration of telecom equipment.
  • Manage access control systems and provide expertise in CCTV operations (preferred).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to resolve multi-layered issues effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Computer Engineering
    ,
    Computer Science
    , or a related field.

CCIE Collaboration Certification
or equivalent experience.

  • ITIL Certification
    and relevant
    Data Centre
    industry certifications.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum
    10 years of experience
    in telecom and IT infrastructure management.
  • Proven experience with
    Cisco telephony architecture
    and
    VoIP technologies
    .
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience managing large-scale telecom environments in corporate settings.
