We are seeking for a Water Quality Specialist to join their team and contribute to ensuring the highest standards of water quality and compliance across the country. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership in large utility organizations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service excellence.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain water quality policies and programs in coordination with the Head of Health and Environment and the Water Networks Directorate, ensuring the quality of water transmitted and distributed across Qatar.

  • Manage the development and implementation of water quality strategies and plans, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and policies.

  • Develop and maintain Water Quality procedures and systems in line with relevant quality standards and legal requirements.

  • Prepare manuals and guidelines to ensure compliance with drinking water quality standards.

  • Plan and oversee all water quality activities in a cost-effective and professional manner, coordinating with operations, maintenance, and administrative departments.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of water sites and laboratories to ensure compliance with established systems and standards.

  • Set certification requirements for the Water Quality Laboratory to meet international standards.

  • Provide technical recommendations to the Water Networks Directorate on any water quality issues or concerns.

  • Participate in second-party audits of suppliers, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Ensure documentation of audit findings, preparation of reports, and timely submission to management.

  • Ensure non-conformance reports are raised during audits and that corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

  • Review monthly Water Quality plans, incident investigations, and reports in a timely manner.

  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures at all times.

  • Stay updated on laws and regulations impacting water quality initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement Department to secure and maintain ISO 9002 certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Water, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or in Chemical or Biological Sciences.

  • Certification in water quality assessment is essential.

  • 10+ years of experience in water quality management and leadership within a large organization.

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a large utility company.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

  • Computer literate with strong report writing and presentation skills.
